Coach Gary Charlton said: “We knew we were coming down to play a very physical side, but we out enthused them.

“We made a couple of silly mistakes but I’m happy with the day.

“We won the game around the rucks and that made London go backwards.

“We were disrupted by Peter Lupton’s illness, but we made up for that with effort.

“Mark Calderwood showed his experience today, not just with his tries, but twice making three consecutive tackles. We’re back in training on Thursday for the Haven game in a fortnight.”

With Doncaster not playing yesterday, Town moved to second place in the table, just behind Barrow Raiders who won at Gateshead.
