THE Police Sting Show is on its way to West Cumbria, celebrating the music of an iconic band and their celebrated frontman.

Ex-members of Hotel California, KT Tunstall's band and Fish join forces to perform at the Rosehill Theatre with this new exciting project, on Friday October 13.

Gus Boyd, Bruce Mackay and Gavin Dickie make up this totally live three-piece band with their reworked interpretations of all the iconic songs from The Police and Sting albums, giving them a fresh creative twist.

This show is a must for any fan of rock music, giving a fresh take on the iconic 1970s and 80s songs that are known around the world.

The Police Sting Show features hits such as Roxanne, Fields of Gold, Every Breath You Take, Englishman in New York, Fragile, So Lonely and Message in a Bottle.

The debut shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 were sell-outs, and Gus Boyd’s lead vocals have a similar range and timbre and coupled with his percussive guitar style delivers a great, passionate performance.

Formed in Newcastle in 1977, as punk was at its height, The Police broke the mould with an unheard of reggae-influenced rock style. They went on to win two BRIT Awards and six Grammys in the early 1980s.

Lead vocalist and bassist Sting carved out an even more prolific solo career, releasing 12 studio albums to date, ranging from rock, jazz and reggae, to classical, new-age and worldbeat music.

The Police Sting Show comes to the Rosehill Theatre on October 13, from 7.30pm, and tickets are available from the venue's box office.
