St Bees car death man is named

A PENSIONER who died in hospital four days after his car crashed into a house has been named by the police as Robert Pearson, of Main Street.
The 85-year-old was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven to be treated for injuries suffered in the collision in St Bees.
But police confirmed he died last night. The crash happened at the junction of Outrigg Road and Main Street at 11.40am on Wednesday.
An inquiry is underway and police have asked for anyone with information to come forward. Mr Pearson was behind the wheel of a Ford Focus.
A force spokesman said: “Officers have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and ask that any witnesses make contact with them.”
Damage was caused to a window and wall in the house.
