Numech engineer link with Wigan Warriors

WEST Cumbria has a new connection with Super League giants Wigan Warriors thanks to local firm Numech.
The engineering business, headed by managing director Geoff Tubman, the ex-Workington Town chairman, is this term sponsoring Wigan’s Under-15s, where a couple of top prospects are flying the flag for the county.
Dominic Wear, of Kells, and Wath Brow’s Jake Moore both play for the Under-15s while Ellenborough pair Brad Lawrence and Hayden Mostyn feature for Wigan’s Under-16s.
“The club is more than pleased with them,” said Egremont-based Wigan scout Mike Docherty, who guided the youngsters to the Warriors.
“Young Wear has also played for England Under-15s this year and I’m hoping Jake Moore will also be picked. I think they missed him to start with, and he’s now very close to England selection.
“Brad is captain of the Under-16s and also played for England this year, but Hayden has been plagued by injuries that have held him back.”
