Bassenthwaite rain raises the bar

THE main activity over the weekend was moving boats rather than racing them. In just over 24 hours the level of Bassenthwaite Lake rose by six feet and boats which are normally tied down next to the Lake had to be rapidly moved to the high ground behind the clubhouse.
