League leaders hold on by just one point

THE big game last Friday was between league leaders Keswick and reigning champions Workington A, the result of which was a 4-3 win for the latter club.
Keswick remain on top of the table but only by one point from Whitehaven A who won 5-2 at Cleator Moor. Vulcan Park will have been relieved to have picked up their first points of the season. Other results: Maryport 3 Seaton 4; Workington B 4 Cockermouth 3.

West Cumbria Mixed Triples League: Reigning champions and league leaders Whitehaven A found the going tough last Tuesday (15 May) at Cockermouth against Croft A but managed to win 5-4 to stay top. League newcomers Aspatria climbed off the bottom of the table with by gaining four points at home against Seascale B. Other results: Cleator Moor AS 6 Egremont 3, Workington A 7 Harris park 2, Whitehaven B 4 Workington B 5, Frizington 5 Maryport 4, Seaton 7 Cleator Moor B 2, Seascale A 7 Croft B 2.
