HARLFC 3 v 6 White Star
Friz Vets 6 v 3 Sun Inn
Lowther Dnp V Dnp
Vine Marchon 3 v 6 Bennies
League Table
In the fixture between last season’s champions The Sun Inn and Frizington Vets club, it was the latter who proved that they could have their eyes on this year’s champions trophy with a highly prized 6-3 victory. This victory was helped with a maximum “180” from J.Burns, a two-dart 100 finish from J.Nicholson and a 16-dart game from S.Burns.
The other Frizington team White Star also pulled off a good start to the season with a 6-3 win over the HARLFC and could be another team to watch this season.
In the final match of Week 1 between Bennies and the Marchon club, even a maximum score “180” from M.Todhunter of the Marchon was not enough to stop a powerful Bennies team who had two fantastic checkouts: a 130 from Dave Mellon and the best this week a 131 from M.Grayson as they went on to collect the league points with a 6-3 victory.
Week 2 fixtures: Vine v Marchon, Sun Inn v Lowther, White Star v Vets, Haven v HARLFC, Bennies v Bye.
