NOMINATIONS close tomorrow for this year’s Cumbria Sports Awards.
The entries have been coming well for the 2011 awards, but organisers are keen to get as many as possible.
The event recognises the outstanding talents, commitment and successes of teams and individuals throughout the county, with presentations taking place at Windermere’s Low Wood Hotel on November 25.
Cumbria Sports Personality of the Year went to bowls ace Stuart Airey last year with England internationals Mark Cueto and rally boss Malcolm Wilson also winning the top award in the past.
Votes can be cast for: sports personality, best team, individual performance, young leader, junior team, coach, junior personality, volunteer of the year and disabled performance.
Nominations can be made online at www.activecumbria.org/cumbriasportsawards.
Forms can also be downloaded from the website and should be returned to Active Cumbria, 5 Portland Square, Carlisle, CA1 1PU.
