KELLS under-16s, under-14s and under-12s completed a clean sweep in the Cumbria Cup competitions.
The under-12s played Barrow Island at the Copeland Athletics Stadium in a fiercely-contested but well-mannered game by both sets of players.
The game went into extra time then sudden death.
Kells came out the eventual winners with a Golden Point drop-goal by Robbie Johnston.
Final score 11-10.
Ryan Doran, the Kells’ full-back, was the man of the match.
The under-14s took on Walney at Craven Park and took the game to Walney right from the kick off, scoring at ease.
The pace and handling skills of the Kells team proved too much for the home team, who never gave up and were rewarded with a consolation try.
Kells ran out 52-4 victors with Daniel Slattery, scorer of five tries, being awarded the man of the match.
The under-16 final was against Egremont. The Kells’ defence, attacking flair, and speed overcame a spirited Egremont team that kept pressurising the Kells line.
However, Kells ran out comfortable 50-0 winners. Jamie Doran, who recently signed for Wigan, was given the man-of-the-match award.
