The session was organised by the West Cumbria Service Area Player Development Centre. There will be other sessions held throughout the summer season which are to be held at local community clubs.

The coaching has been supported by both Whitehaven & Workington Town as well as Community Talent Coaches from the local community clubs.

The Player Development Centres are designed to support a broad approach to talent development. Enabling players who have demonstrated ‘potential’ the opportunities to progress through the talent pathway. A curricular approach which is appropriate for the developmental stage of the player ensures that those with potential progress and not the more ‘physical/mature player.

The first step on the Talent pathway is through the Service Area Player Development Centre at Under 13 before players transit to the Regional Player Development Centre at Under 14. The Service Area will continue to offer a player development centre at Under 14 to provide players who are not yet ready to progress.
