Jamie scores try of day for Egremont

EGREMONT and Millom had not played much rugby with the cold spell over Christmas and New Year so had a friendly to keep match fit.
Millom got off to great start with big second row forward Ethan Kelly going over under the sticks, giving Jordan Moyles an easy kick.
After some good passing among the Egremont backs and forwards, the quick- thinking Matthew Herbert spotted an opening for Egremont in the corner, leaving a difficult kick for Joe Bold who duly converted.
Herbert took another opportunity in the corner, giving Bold a similar kick, which he converted again.
The very hard-working Mitchell Edwards took over, scoring a good try and Bold adding the extras to leave Egremont 18-6 ahead at the break.
Edwards, who worked very hard, opened up the Millom defence for Pat Wells to take three defenders over the line scoring good try, Bold converting. Then came the try of the game, with Wells and Bold moving the ball well to put Jamie Millburn in to score. And Jack Short rounded off the scoring with a final try, Bold adding the extras to both.
Ethan Kelly and Hugh Sweeney scored for Millom, with Jordan Moyles converting both, for Egremont to emerge worthy winners, 36-18.
