EGREMONT welcomed Arlecdon under-14s and under-16s, giving two good open games of youth rugby.
In both games the more experienced Egremont sides came out on top but Arlecdon never gave up the fight until the final whistle was blown.
The under-14s were first on and both sides threw the ball about creating openings for tries coming fast and furious, Rhys Miller setting a lot of the tries up for Egremont.
Try scorers were: Miller, Rossiter, Jolly, Kinsella,Wright, Herton, Cowan, Dunn. Conversions: Jolly (3) , Stainton (3), Herton (2) and Dunn (1).
Arlecdon’s tries came from Glaister (2), with one apiece for Woodburn and Wilson. Referee Kevin Brown kept the game flowing with a good display of refereeing.
The under-16s followed a similar pattern to the first game with the more experienced Egremont coming out on top moving the ball across the field from wing to wing with tries for Carr (2), Rogers (2), Lombede (2) and one apiece for Hewitson, Horton, Moyes, Hodgson and Bold. Conversions for Bold (3) and Moyes (2).
Arlecdon’s McCoombe claimed the try of the match, outstripping the full Egremont defence going a full 75-yards to score a brilliant try. Again referee Brown kept the game flowing to provide two very fast games of youth rugby.
