THE Hornets welcomed Kells for their final home league match of the season, and the game started with big hits and great defence from both sides.
The breakthrough came when Brow centre Connor McAleavey touched down in the corner on seven minutes. The game was close for another eight minutes before Brow hooker Owen McCartney crossed from dummy-half, Ellis Curnow adding the conversion.
On 20 minutes second-row Rhys Pritchard burst through to score, Curnow adding the conversion to make it 16-0 at half-time.
The second-half started with great defensive work and big hits, until on 31 minutes sub Ryan Smith broke through the Kells defence to score beside the posts.
Curnow converted and five minutes later, after constant pressure, great defence and finally a mistake from the Brow, Jake Corrie scored in the corner for Kells.
The Brow responded almost immediately, forcing an error, quick-thinking Smith scoring his second under the sticks. Curnow’s kick made it 28-4.
The next 10 minutes again saw great defence from both teams, until just before the final whistle, McAleavey crossed for his second try of the match.
