Bassenthwaite battle for county’s young orienteers
Published at 11:12, Thursday, 21 June 2012
THE third primary school orienteering league event was held at Powter How wood near Bassenthwaite Lake last week.
The honours were shared widely this time, with the winners of the courses being Jack Rayson of Broughton, Danielle Jackson of Bridekirk Dovenby and Jamie Kinnear of Gosforth.
Bridekirk had a good showing at the top end of the results with Maryport Junior also showing a spirited performance.
The results and scores are now added to the spreadsheet with the overall winners and club teams declared at the West Cumbria final in mid July.
The results are also used to select the Allerdale team for the Youth Games to be held at Carlisle this coming week.
All results can be found on www.lakes-o.com with links to forthcoming events.
