WHITEHAVEN Amateurs youngsters were champions at a recent junior football tournament organised by Maryport Monsters club.
Amateurs U11s B team and U9s Blues team both lifted trophies at the event.
A superb and determined team performance from the U11s saw them turn around an earlier defeat at the hands of a Cockermouth A team. In the final, cracking strikes from Corey Todd and an excellent run and powerful finish from Jack Bunting were enough to take home the winners trophies with a 2-0 victory.
While the U9s beat Maryport Monsters A team in the final, with Keelan Leslie slotting home the only goal from the penalty spot in a tight game.
