Mr Ed beats his kennelmates in Middlemoss senior graded trail

Border Trails round-up
THE number of Border Association runners was reduced at Middlemoss last Tuesday evening, where odds-on favourite Silver Birch was an easy winner of the senior trail, from Marshman and Lassie.
Edgar Bain’s Mr Ed beat kennelmates Springfield Lass and Spring Moss in the senior graded race. Barbara and Ian Telford’s Trust had a comfortable win in the puppy trail with Carlin and Big Mack in second and third places.
Steph Lithgow’s Flashback led home the veterans from Castle Lodge and Jigsaw.

Senior Graded: 1 Mr Ed; 2 Springfield lass; 3 Spring Moss; 4 Skylark; 5 Sunset. Only five finished, 6 ran; time, 29:12.

Veterans: 1 Flashback; 2 Castle Lodge; 3 Jigsaw; 4 Amber Rose; 5 Summer Flight; 6 Azinger. 9 ran; time, 19:58.
Willie and Alice Telford’s Fire Hero (Texas Bob/ Atlantis) worked hard to gain victory in the BHTA Dog Produce Stakes on Saturday at Steel Rigg. He had a head advantage over Big Mack on the line, with Newman finishing fast in third place.
Messers Aitchison and Burgon’s Houxty Beck had a relatively easy win over Silver Birch and Denton Memory in the senior race.
Ocean Wind held on well for a senior graded victory over the consistent Springfield Lass and Mr.Ed.
Toytown loves this kind of running and gained another comfortable puppy championship win beating Lakeland Mist and Castle Brig.

The BHTA fixture at Spadeadam on Tuesday was good news for the Lithgow and Newstead kennel as they gained a double.
Jack Flash showed his finishing speed to beat Fire Hero and Trust in the puppy trail, and Flashback had an easy win in the open maidens from Texas Lassie and Molly.
Sandra Mordue’s Silver Birch was the senior winner well ahead of her rivals, with Marshman second and Texas Bob third.
The Langholm trained Castle Brae took the honours in the Open Graded trail from Fire Glory and Springkell.
