Windscale crowned Division One champs

WEDNESDAY night saw Windscale crowned champions as they lifted the Tesco Division One Title with victory at Cleator Moor Celtic.
Andrew McDonald hit two while Michael Farer and Andrew Hurley hit one each. Ryan Hall and Luke Close hit Celtic’s.
Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves 2 Windscale 4.
Windscale will go looking for a league and Cup double as they will play Wigton Athletic in the West Cumbria Scaffolding Divisional Cup Final later this month.

St Bees Reserves beat Parton United thanks to strikes from David Cass, Barry Irving (2), Matt Metcalfe (2) and goal of the game from Carl Wormsley.
Callum Circuit hit both for Parton as it finished St Bees Reserves 6 Parton United 2.
St Bees also had a good win as Tony James hit two and one each from John Ennis and Damian King. Alan Cardie hit the consolation for the visitors as it ended St Bees 4 Whitehaven Miners 1.
Tesco Premier League saw two games as Barry Armfield and Jack Edmonson both netted to make it Frizington White Star 1 Cockermouth 1.
Dan Martos and Mike Riding both scored as it ended Wigton Harriers 2 Longtown 0.
Silloth and Netherhall meet in the semis of the Focsa Ken Glover Memorial Shield and it is Netherhall who will face Celtic Reserves as Ben Byers pen and Keith Anderson and Ryan Porter all netted with Andy Hind hitting the consolation Silloth 1 Netherhall 3.
Saturday action saw the semis of the Smurfit Cappa Conway Cup. Borough switched their game to Netherhall and it was the champions who took advantage on a rather blustery day. Nick Holden and Ryan Porter put the home side two up but direct from a corner captain Andrew Wetherhall fired the ball home and that gave Borough hope. But it was short lived as Tony Nicholson hit the third for Netherhall as it finished at Netherhall Borough 1 Netherhall 3.
Celtic Reserves will host Netherhall in the final at McGrath Park as they ran out winners over Silloth Robert Fowler hit both for the hoops as they have finished very strong making three out of five finals. Andrew Trestiarnou hit Silloth’s as it finished at Cleator, Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves 2 Silloth 1.
Tesco Premier league action saw Frizington White Star lose out to Carlisle City 1 - 3. Wigton Harriers beat Mirehouse 3 - 1 and in Tesco Division One there were two great games as St Bees and Wigton Athletic shared eight goals in a 4 - 4 draw.
Whitehaven Miners ended Bransty Rangers’ hopes of clinching runners up with a 4 - 3 victory.
