Three cheer for Celtic victories

CLEATOR Moor Celtic won at home for the second time inside three days against Seaton Carew - and kept a clean sheet.

Craig Padley was man-of-the-match as he ran the show but Leigh Dunn is showing why Celtic wanted him back in the green and white – it was he who set up Scott Redhead for his first strike for his new club on his home debut.

Provider turned scorer 10 minutes later as Edwards found Dunn and he was far to strong for the defenders as he hit the ball past Fleetham in the Seaton goal.

Leigh Dunn hit another on 67 minutes.

Cleator Moor Celtic 3, Easington Colliery 1

SATURDAY saw CM Celtic turn their attention to the Cup as they played Easington Colliery in the Wearside Shipowners Cup first round, having already beaten Easington on Monday.

Celtic took the lead on 11 minutes as Kevin Holiday played in Leigh Dunn and his lob looked to have beaten Andrew Laundries. The keeper somehow got a hand to it but Dunn reacted quickly and he headed the lose ball home.

On 25 minutes Celtic hit the suicide button as they played around at the back and panic set in. A loose ball from Corkhill caused problem and Dion Barnes collided with Stephen Bagshaw; Barnes got a yellow card and Bagshaw netted the pen.

After a few missed chances, Celtic did restore the lead – Dion Barnes playing in Glyn Edwards and he hitting the ball over the advancing Lindridge.

The best was to come as six minutes later Glyn Edwards, sweet as you like, hit a superb volley and one and all just stood and watched it ripple the back of the netting to make it three one.
