Mixed pre-season for Cleator Moor

CLEATOR Moor Celtic have had a mixed pre-season campaign as they prepare for the big kick-off in the Wearside League.
Celtic, who looked unstopppable in pre-season last year, have had a more difficult period this time around.
They have lost 5-3 to Carlisle United (Charlton, Birdsall and Redhead getting the goals) and 3-1 to Gretna (Dunn scoring).
Things picked up with a 3-1 win at Millom (Birsdall twice and Edwards), but Monday night saw Celtic lose 4-1 to Workington Reds.
Mark Boyd impressed with Reds’ opening goal, the midfielder breaking the deadlock within two minutes at McGrath Park.
Trialist Phil Storey opened his account with a goal before the break while Mark Sloan and Stefan Scott made sure of the result.
Celtic’s consolation came from a free-kick hit home by Craig Padley.
Celtic travel to Holker Old Boys on Saturday (1pm kick-off) and then go to Penrith on Tuesday (7.30pm).
Celtic then start their season with a trip to Sunderland West End on Saturday, August 4th followed by three home games; Easington Colliery twice (once in the league and one cup) and new boys Seaton Carew.
