Mirehouse open up a lead

THE games are coming thick and fast at the moment as the season draws to a close, with Mirehouse opening up a lead at the top of Division One, leaving champs Cleator Moor to play catch-up which may prove difficult due to fixture congestion.

Whittington Cat eased their relegation worries with a fine 4-2 away win at St Bees Village, to leave Frizington and St Bees stranded at the bottom.

In Division Two, a couple of games have been subject to discipline with teams losing points, and the promotion is a three-way tussle between FC Labour, Moor Row and Haven Athletic.
