CLEATOR Moor Celtic continued their recent run of good form with a fine away win at Seaton Carew.

Celtic had opportunities to take the lead but found themselves behind to a goal from Richard Gilmour. This young Celtic side, with an average age of 18, were not phased by this and equalised on 15 minutes.

The Wearside League’s top scorer Leigh Dunn got on the end of a Tom Mahone through ball before calmly slotting the ball into the corner of the net. Chances were shared after this and the hoops keeper Craig Devine had to be at his best.

Dunn was giving the home side’s defence a difficult time and he was unlucky to see an effort rebound off the bar. Celtic went in at half time all square, but after strong words from manager Matt Henney, they came out a different side. Rhys Little collected the ball on the left and after cutting inside fired a shot at the keeper John Markham. Markham could only parry the ball into the path of Ryan Hall who fired into an empty net. Skipper Dion Barnes organised his defence enough to restrict the Hartlepool side’s attempts on goal to nearly nothing. Celtic made the game safe when the game’s top performer Bradley Rooney scored from close range after great work from Josh Charlton.

Celtic look forward to home games against Jarrow (Wednesday) and Wolviston (Saturday).
