EGREMONT Rangers finished off their season in style, with a victory on the road at Waterhead.
After already securing promotion to the National Conference League’s division one next season, Egremont finished their year on a high with a 34-18 victory over their hosts.
Waterhead came out of the blocks well and picked up two tries to go 8-0 ahead but then Egremont began to get back into the game.
Kieron Glenn picked up one back for Egremont, crossing in the corner and then Peter Bewsher levelled the scores when he split the defence to touch down.
Glenn got his second when he latched on to a clever kick from Paul Corkhill and John Paul Brocklebank added the extras.
And, after another 10 minutes, Glenn collected his hat-trick for 8-18 to Egremont.
Then Leon Crellin stretched to score in the corner, with Brocklebank adding a superb touchline conversion to go in 8-24 ahead at half time.
Crellin got his second on the other side of the break, with Brocklebank converting and then going on to bag a try of his own, after racing 50-metres to the line.
Waterhead did not lie down and they came back with two tries of their own, one converted, to make the final score 18-34.
But yet again this was Egremont’s day and now they will take a well earned rest before preparing for next season.
