CUMBRIA County ARL have announced an over-35 squad to play in the upcoming tri-series with Lancashire and Yorkshire – with players out to impress ahead of a tour to Dubai.
Fifteen players, plus one reserve make up the Cumbria squad that will take part in the three counties over 35s selection tournament for the Unison BARLA tour to Dubai.
Ten West Cumbrians are named in the squad, along with a contingent from Barrow. Training will take place on August 7 at Kells ARL, at 6.30pm.
Cumbria County thanked Gary Eilbeck from Eilbeck Motors who, in the way of sponsorship, has donated a minibus to travel down to Leigh.
Spokesman, Sean High added: “Without the likes of Gary and other local businessmen supporting local rugby league and the county, we would struggle to keep going.
“This is a massive chance for some of these lads who are still putting on a club jersey over the weekend, to try and get something back out of the game.”
Squad: Darren Carter, Steve Perry, Paul Dean, Paul Clough, Gareth Sanderson, Darren Clarke, David Wynne (all Barrow); Dale Semple (Broughton RR); Neil McCartney (Wath Brow); Graham Broatch (Hensingham); Stephen Holgate (Hensingham/Frizington); Gary Haile (Lowca); Steven Reed (Cockermouth); Steven Long, Andrew Little (Egremont). Reserve: Sean High (Kells).
