Workington Town just missed out on a win at Hunslet, as their hosts ran in a late try to secure victory.
Town were within two points of their hosts going into the final few minutes but they could not find the killer blow.
And Hunslet picked up a late score to ease the pressure and take the vital League 1 points for temporary coach Rob Roberts.
Town began well with a try for John Patrick but Hunslet hit back with a converted try of their own.
But it was Town who had the lead at half time 10-6 after a score from Jason Mossop, converted by Carl Forber.
It was the hosts who then pulled away in the second half to make it 24-10 but Town were not out.
They came back with second half tries for Forber and Callum Phillips, with Forber adding one goal and Kieran Mewse also kicking a conversion.
This left the score at 24-22 to Hunslet and all to play for but it was the home side who finished on top with a final converted try in the dying minutes to win 30-22.
