Bragging rights don't matter on Saturday it is all about the two points stated Whitehaven director of rugby James Robinson.

Haven take on Workington Town at the Championship's Summer Bash event in Blackpool, with both sides desperate to claw back points in the fight to avoid relegation.

And Robinson, a veteran of the West Cumbrian derbies on both sides, says the league points are foremost in Haven's mind.

"Without a doubt, there is a lot at stake this weekend," he said. "A 1-0 scoreline would do me, it is one of those games where we just need the two points.

"Obviously there are bragging rights up for grabs as well but there are more serious things at stake in this match."

Haven are going into the game on the back of a heavy defeat at the hands of London Broncos last Sunday.

And they only have the bare bones of their squad after injuries have hit them hard over the past few weeks.

"Our lads just need to dust themselves off and get back on the horse," added Robinson.

"We need to sort our team out and hopefully we will maybe get a couple of lads in on dual registration but it will be a late decision.

"We are down to the bare bones but our lads will be up for the game and to try and get the two points."

Craig Calvert will be available once more to coach James Coyle, after work commitments prevented his trip to the capital.

But Jordan Burns will have to await assessment from the doctor after sustaining a head injury in the Broncos clash.

Robinson is very wary of the threat that Workington pose and admitted they will be a different side from the last time they met back on Good Friday, when Haven ran out 24-16 winners.

"I definitely think they have improved since then, they were struggling with injuries at the time but they have lads back now," said Robinson.

"I think they will probably have a few more back for this match as well as everyone will want to play.

"Phil Veivers will have a bit of a headache when it comes to team selection. The lads that have been playing well should keep their places but there will be others desperate to prove they should play."

Haven and Town will meet in the third game of the Summer Bash on Saturday at Bloomfield Road, ko 4.45pm.
