Workington Reds produced a storming eight minute spell just inside the second half to see off opponents Mickleover Sports 4-1.

Reds moved up to sixth place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League following the win - and now just one point off the play-offs berths.

Reds were losing 1-0 following an unassuming first half where neither side really looked to settle into their game.

But if you blinked then you might have missed the action as it really hotted up in the opening moments of the second half.

Reds were awarded three penalties in an eight minute spell, two of which were put into the back of the net by Dave Symington, with one saved.

And in between Symington also blasted a superb volley into the back of the net so he finished with a hat-trick.

Rob Wilson also blasted home a top-drawer volley in those electrifying eight minutes to leave Mickleover shell-shocked and out of the contest.
