FC Labour clinched their Sunday County Cup clash against Sun inn in extra time after an action packed encounter.

The two sides were deadlocked after 90 minutes but it was the Egremont Sunday league side who triumphed 5-3 after extra time.

Two goals from Scott McRea and one apiece from Josh Fisher, Craig Burns and Mark Irving led them to victory.

Workington Sunday League side Sun Inn had found the back of the net three times with Mark Irwin getting two and Brad Williamson one.

But in a scrappy finish, Sun Inn had two players, Irwin and Daryl Creighton, sent off.

Another Copeland side, Thornhill Social, also move through to the next round, thanks to a 2-0 win at the home of Senhouse Street.

Mirehouse won 5-1 at the home of league rivals Bransty Rangers.

But the remaining two Egremont SAFL sides dropped out with Lowca Pirates losing 1-0 at the hands of Seaton Royal Oak, David Knowles scoring their goal.

And Thornhill put up a good fight before going under 5-3 at the handsw of Pack Horse, for who Connor McCrickard bagged a brace. Tommy Whitehead, Scott Whitehead and Connor Hammell also scored.

Blue Bell took their game to penalties against FC Gaslight before winning 4-3 despite goals from Greg Kerr, Shaun Carter and Gary Byers for Gaslight.

Waverley were clear 6-1 winners at Sun Inn Athletic who got a consolation goal though Mark Beaty.

The scoring was shared for Waverley with Kieran Messenger, Mark Cairns, Ashley Dixon, Christopher Taylor, Antony Zajac and Bradley Newell all finding the back of the net.

Northside moved through without kicking a ball as opponents Grasslot could not field a side.

There were also four Workington Sunday League matches that went ahead in division one.

Dearham were victorious over Highfield 4-1 with Matthew Langstaff leading the goal scoring with two, alongside efforts from Callum Casson and Dylan Elsworth.

It was a tight encounter at Salterbeck where visitors Red House just edged the game 2-1 thanks to goals from Anthony Hilland and Gary O'Driscoll. Joe Courtney got the lone goal from Salterbeck.

The away wins continued as Silloth Albion took the points from Maryport United with a 5-1 scoreline, John Gartland getting the only home score.

Kris Nichol, Mark Glencross, Nathan Gray, Richard Shaw and Ewan Trestianu all pitched in for Silloth.

Finally, Workington Reds Juniors won 5-2 at Maryport Labour Club, thanks to a double from Cameron Harker and one each for Macauley Sharp, Aston Reynolds and Luke Davidson.
