Seaton Rangers retained the Joan Blair Memorial Trophy at the weekend, with a comprehensive victory over Salterbeck Storm.

This is the second year the clash has been held, in memory of former Cumberland League PRO Joan Blair, who died in June 2010.

In the end it was a runaway victory for the Cumberland League champions Seaton, winning 54-0.

Andy McGlasson led the way for Seaton with a hat-trick of tries and Miguel Blanco-Charters and Duncan Moyle both added braces.

Chris Highton, Brett Phillips and Scott Rooke also touched down, with Highton adding seven goals.

All proceeds from the game were to be donated to charity, with Colin Armstrong agreeing to referee the game for nothing.

Joan, of Seaton, was a tireless worker for the amateur game and the village club wanted to come up with a way to remember her, which is how the game was inaugurated last season.

They contacted Salterbeck, where officials Vince and Lana McNicholas were also big friends with Joan and her husband, CARL chairman Roger and they were eager to get on board.
