Rider Kildemand out of Workington Comets’ weekend meetings

Workington Comets will be without Peter Kildemand for their weekend double header.
The Dane who was injured in a Grand Prix qualifier two weeks ago is still suffering from damaged ligaments in his shoulder and will miss the away match with Berwick and the re-arranged home match with Ipswich on Sunday which starts at 7pm.
Workington will use rider replacement for Kildemand at No2 with Richard Lawson at three and Tomas Topinka at five.
Comets owner Keith Denham believes the Comets need to take points from both weekend matches to keep pace with top of the table Glasgow who head the Comets by six points after their victory away to Ipswich last Thursday.
Denham said: “I feel we will have a chance against Berwick and I hope to get something from the match to keep up with Glasgow at the top of the table.
“The away teams we will be facing in the next few weeks are getting stronger such as Leicester who have got Kauko Nieminen at number one and that makes a difference.
“I think we will be all right against Ipswich even without Peter. The track has settled down now and Ipswich even though they started the season well have suffered with injuries.”
Comets could be in for a tougher test than they thought against Berwick on Saturday as the Bandits have announced they have made a major new signing for the match.
The Bandits have said it is a rider from the Elite League who will be joining them but have not released the name as they are awaiting confirmation from the British Speedway Promoters Association before they do so.
Meanwhile the Workington Speedway Supporters Club have said there are still seats on a bus travelling to Berwick and anyone wanting to book a seat can call Paul Sermon or Justin Boots on 07411009645 or 07411335134.
Prices are £15 for members and £17 for non members and £10 for under 16 members and £15 for under 16 non members.
Pick up points are opposite Weatherspoons in Whitehaven at 2.30pm and at Derwent Park at 2.45pm.
The club are also running a 49 seater bus to the Premier League Fours on August 7 at Leicester and already have more than 30 names confirmed.
Seats will cost between £17 and £20 depending on numbers.
