Rebecca Beattie, 23, lab technician at James Walker and Michael Raynor, 26, safety case team member at Sellafield, live in Moor Row.
HOW THEY MET: While working together at Iceland when Rebecca was in sixth form and Michael at university in 2004. They became friends and then got together in December 2005.
PROPOSAL: While on a walk at Grange near Keswick in October 2009.
VENUE: Hunday Manor Country House Hotel.
THEME: Ivory and burnt orange.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory Mon Cherie dress with Swarovski detail, tiara and veil with diamantes and tear drop crystals, from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.
GROOMSMEN: Dean Cruden was best man and ushers were David McAllister, Craig Smith and Stephen Moore, all close friends of the groom.
Stephen Moore was also toastmaster. They wore slate grey trousers and tail-coat suits from Greenwoods, Workington.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s best friend Claire Townson and the bride’s sister Laura Beattie were bridesmaids and wore sunset orange dresses from Olivia James Bridal.
FLOWERS: Hand-tied bouquet of orange and ivory calla lilies interspersed with orange winter berries and diamante decoration, by the groom’s great aunt Beryl Colley.
HAIR AND BEAUTY: Bridget Foster.
TRANSPORT: A blue Beauford and blue and cream Daimler, from A Touch of Class, Workington.
RECEPTION: Hunday Manor for a champagne reception and four course meal for 110 guests and a further 40 guests for an evening reception and hot and cold buffet.
TABLE SETTINGS: Tables were decorated with crystals and orange rose petals and table centres were Martini glasses filled with roses on mirrored plates with candles.
CAKE: A three-tier fruit cake made by the bride’s mother Angela Beattie and decorated by family friend Steph Gribbin.
FIRST DANCE: Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol, performed by singer John Penn, Carlisle.
ENTERTAINMENT: Singer and guitarist John Penn, who also provided the disco.
HONEYMOON: Riviera Maya, Mexico.
