HOW THEY MET: On a night out with mutual friends in Carlisle in 2007.
PROPOSAL: On Valentine’s Day 2008 under the stars on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.
VENUE: Dalston Hall Hotel.
THEME: Dusky pink with pearl and diamante summer theme.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory strapless Eddy K gown with Swarovski detail on the bodice and rouching to the waist, mid-length veil and Swarovski tiara all from Country Dreams Bridal House, Carlisle.
GROOMSMEN: David McIlwraith was best man and Anthony Irving was master of ceremony/best man. Ushers were the groom’s brother Simon Mumberson and the bride’s brother Martyn Gibson.
They wore charcoal slim fit suits with dusky pink waistcoat and cravats from Country Dreams Bridal, Carlisle.
BRIDESMAIDS: Maid of honour was Kate Messenger and bridesmaids were Stacey Cowton and Joanne Maleney, all friends of the bride. They wore dusky pink satin prom style dresses with ruffle effect to the front and ribbon tie on the back, from Next.
The bride’s goddaughter Amelia Messenger was flower girl and wore an ivory dress with butterfly detail from Debenhams.
FLOWERS: The bride carried a bouquet of dusky pink roses and greenery with diamante detail and hand-tied with pearls, from Brenda Dowling, Gardenalia, Heads Nook.
TRANSPORT: A black Bentley Continental supplied by Reays Coaches, Wigton.
RECEPTION: Dalston Hall Hotel for a champagne and Pimms reception and meal for 76 guests followed by an evening reception for a further 70 guests.
TABLE SETTINGS: Tall vases with a mix of dusky pink flowers and gel lights supplied by Brenda Dowling of Gardenalia, near Carlisle and large silver candelabras by Dalston Hall Hotel.
FAVOURS: A personalised CD of the bride and groom’s favourite wedding songs, hand tied with pink organza ribbon.
CAKE: A seven-tier cake with ivory icing and waterfall effect display of dusky pink roses and greenery. Layers including chocolate and hazelnut, carrot cake and chocolate and cherry. Made by one of the bride’s best friends, Helen Doyle, a pastry chef from Carlisle.
FIRST DANCE: Written in the Stars, Westlife.
ENTERTAINMENT: Orange Juice Jones and The Floaters from Carlisle and a firework display by Dalston Hall.
HONEYMOON: New York, Las Vegas and San Diego.
