l (29/05/12) STREET Rugby starts in Barrow this week, with sessions at Furness Academy tomorrow and at Hindpool Urban Park on Thursday, between 3pm and 5pm on both days. For more information, contact Al Goodings on 07794 914938.
l (29/05/12) WALNEY Central RL under-sixes are looking for children to take part in rugby league training sessions for boys and girls. Sessions take place on Fridays, at Mill Lane (opposite Island Tavern), between 4.15pm and 5pm. Parents will be asked to stay with their children, and all parents can join in and be an extra pair of hands or just watch.
l (22/05/12) FURNESS Rovers are on the lookout for players for their under-10s section. Training takes place every Sunday at 10am at Strawberry Fields. Contact Dave on 07562 432348 for more information.
l (22/05/12) FURNESS Judo Club are looking for more junior members, aged between eight and 16, both boys and girls. They train on Mondays and Fridays, between 6.45pm and 7.45pm at St Matthew’s Community Halls, Highfield Road, Barrow. Anyone is welcome to go along and try the sport. This is an opportunity for children going into Year 3 in September to play football. l (15/05/12) BARROW Thorns Under-16s girls basketball squad are looking for new players to add for next season’s National League team. Eligible players would be born after September 1, 1996. Previous basketball experience is not essential, but an interest in other sports and a level of athletic ability is an advantage. Anyone interested can attend training sessions on Tuesday between 6.30pm and 8pm at Hoops Basketball Centre, Barrow.
l (15/05/12) BARROW AFC will be holding a Whit Week Soccer Camp at Holker Street between tomorrow and Friday. The sessions will run from 10am until 3pm each day and cost £10 per day. For more information, contact Craig Rutherford on 07816 163346.
l (24/04/12) MILLOM Recreation Centre are holding children’s football sessions every Monday and Friday. Onside Soccer Coaching run infant sessions on Mondays between 3.45pm and 4.15pm, with junior sessions from 4.30pm until 5.15pm the same day. There are also under-nines beginners’ football sessions every Friday between 4pm and 5pm, run by the centre. All sessions cost £2.50 per child.
