Your guide to Remembrance services

ON Remembrance Sunday, the Copeland Borough civic service of Remembrance will be held at the Solway Hall, Whitehaven Civic Hall at noon after the wreath-laying in Castle Park.
The mayor and mayoress of Copeland, Coun Peter Tyson and Louise Tyson, will attend, leading the parade which leaves the Copeland Centre, Catherine Street at 10.30am for the Act of Remembrance in Castle Park.
The procession will leave the park by way of Lowther Street, turning at the corner of St Nicholas’ Gardens into Queen Street and halt at the Queen Street entrance to the gardens where the mayor will lay a wreath at the Normandy Veterans Memorial. The procession will then turn right into Duke Street and follow the one-way system into Scotch Street and on to the Civic Hall.
In the afternoon, at 2.45pm, the mayor and mayoress will also attend a Remembrance service at CLEATOR MOOR.
Tomorrow (Friday), the mayor will attend an Armistice Day parade at HMP HAVERIGG, Millom at 10.45am.
The deputy mayor and mayoress, Geoff Garrity and Mrs Garrity, will take part in MILLOM’S Remembrance Sunday service with the parade forming at 9.30am at the Tin Chapel, Mainsgate Road.

The WHITEHAVEN PARISH EUCHARIST AND ACT OF REMEMBRANCE will be at St James’ Church at 10am and there will be a service at St Nicholas’ Chapel at 3pm.
Gosforth and District Royal British Legion will be holding its annual Remembrance service on Sunday at 3pm at St Peter’s Church, DRIGG. A laying of wreaths will take place after the 10.30am morning service at St Cuthbert’s Church, SEASCALE.
Services in the Parish of Lamplugh with Ennerdale: 9am at KIRKLAND MISSION – Remembrance with Holy Communion; 10.30pm at St MICHAEL’S CHURCH, LAMPLUGH – Parish Remembrance Service; 2.30pm at St MARY’S CHURCH, ENNERDALE – wreath-laying service at the war memorial. All welcome.
At EGREMONT, the parade will assemble at Ehen Court Road at 10.45am and march to Egremont war memorial at 10.50am for the Act of Remembrance at 11am, followed by wreath laying and on to St Mary’s RC Church for Remembrance Day service. Egremont Town Band in attendance. All welcome.
At MOOR ROW, the Act of Remembrance will take place at the war memorial at 1pm, followed by wreath laying. Egremont Town Band in attendance.
At FRIZINGTON, a Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday (1pm) in the fire station on Main Street, followed by a wreath-laying at the war memorial. Wreaths will also be laid at St Michael’s Church, Arlecdon, and St Joseph’s RC Church, Frizington, at their morning services.
