Youngsters' charity donation looms

YOUNGSTERS have used the loom band craze to raise money for two charities.

Loom stars: The pupils who raised funds with loom bands

Seven pupils from St Bees Village School made hundreds of loom bands and sold them to friends and family at 50p a piece to raise a £110.

The money was split between Cancer Research and Team Lucas.

Team Lucas remembers the life of Lucas Garrity who died from an aggressive brain tumour last year when he was seven years old.

Although he lived in Heaton Moor, near Manchester, he has family connections to the area.

Karen Winn, Year 5 teacher, said: “A parent of one of the pupils is involved with fundraising for Team Lucas. When the family of Lucas were contacted they were so pleased with what the children had done.”
