Woman in car attack

A HEATED argument with her boyfriend led a woman to lash out and knock the wing mirrors off three cars.
Karlene Higgins, 23, of Esk Avenue, Whitehaven, admitted damaging the three cars – a BMW, Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo – that were parked on Fell View Avenue on August 21. She also pleaded guilty to damaging a blanket while in the cells at Workington Police Station.
The defendant, who was given a 12-month conditional discharge for the offences, was ordered to pay £171 compensation to each of the car owners and £130 to the police.
Solicitor Craig Smith, for Higgins, said: “It was a very regrettable incident that was fuelled by alcohol. She lashed out in anger and her actions have shocked her.”
