Weight-loss regime ‘transformed our lives’

A CLEATOR Moor mother and her teenage son have lost over 4.5 stones after attending their local gym up to five times a week.

Sarah and Luke Garner, 15, attended Wath Brow Fitness Suite and have “transformed their lives’’ by following personal programmes designed by gym manager, Vanessa Sewell.

Over the past 18 months, Luke has lost two stones and has seen an improvement in his asthma after attending the gym three times a week. “His confidence has also grown,’’ his mum said.

Sarah, who also attends Slimming World, has lost over 2.5 stones. “I feel so much better. I have more energy and more confidence. I follow Vanessa’s programme three times a week and also go along to classes.’’

When asked how she maintained her discipline at the gym, Sarah said. “I know that if I miss a session I would make excuses not to go, so I never miss!

“When I first started I felt self-conscious but everyone was so friendly. I realised we were all just there to keep fit.”

Vanessa said: “It has been an amazing transformation for Sarah and Luke. By following a personal programme and eating healthily, they are feeling fitter and have a more energetic lifestyle. A big well done to them both!’’

A variety of classes are held throughout the week at the fitness suite. Mondays: Ab attack, 6.30-7.30pm and spinning 8-9pm. Tuesday: Kettles, 6-7pm. Wednesdays: Bums and tums, 6-7pm; pilates, 7.15-8.15pm. Thursdays; circuit blast, 6-7pm; spinning, 7-8pm and 8-9pm.
