COPELAND members of the Fit 4 Life scheme have helped raise £4,750.
Hubert Donnan,of Lowca, Sue and Paul Chapman of Egremont, walked the equivalent of Maryport to Cockermouth on a treadmill.
The members use the community gym at Kells Rugby League Club, each Wednesday and Friday. It offers safe exercise for people who suffer from a range of conditions such as heart disease and lung disease or people at risk of developing such conditions.
The money raised will be used to help run the not-for-profit Fit 4 Life and also buy new equipment.
Dougie Pomfret, Fit 4 Life manager, said: “I’m really pleased with how the day went and how much money we raised. It just goes to show how much support we have from the people who use our facilities and their families.”
