Views sought on community life

THE parish of Whitehaven is seeking views on how to play a fuller role in the daily life of its community.
These comments will influence how the parish can met the needs of people, regardless of their level of involvement with the church.
A questionnaire, which should take no longer than 10 to 15 minutes, is available online at www.whitehavenparish.co.uk/stakeholders.
The community will be asked how they view the parish, which includes St James’ Church and St Nicholas’ Centre, and what can be done to serve the needs of local people more effectively.
Rev John Bannister, rector of Whitehaven parish, said: “This consultation provides us with a valuable opportunity to listen to the views of the community the Church is here to serve.
“The feedback received will be invaluable in assisting the parish in seeking to continue to serve the community of Whitehaven as effectively as it can.
“The views and comments will influence how the parish of Whitehaven shapes its service to meet the needs identified through the consultation. I would urge all members of the community, regardless of their level of involvement with the church, to contribute to this process.”
As well as services provided by the ministry and volunteers, the High Street Community Centre is also used by various groups.
The questionnaire can be downloaded, and returned to boxes available at St James’ Church or the St Nicholas’ Centre. It can also be posted to: Parish Office, St Nicholas’ Centre, Whitehaven CA28 7ET or emailed to whitehavenparish@btinternet.com
The consultation will run until September 30.
