UTC holds an open evening

AN open evening for the Energy Coast University Technical College (UTC), at Lillyhall, takes place next week.

It will be held on Tuesday, January 21 at Energus, on Blackwood Road, from 6pm.

Speakers include Gary Jones, principal and chief executive of the UTC, and representatives from sponsors Lakes College and Gen2.

Organisers say due to the success of previous information evenings, this will be the final event for this September’s Year 10 intake.

The application process is still open and the UTC is accepting applications for this September’s Years 10 and 12.

The Energy Coast UTC aims to provide a learning environment for 14 to 19-year-old students. It will specialise in the energy sector with a strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering and maths. The curriculum will be inspired by employer requirements with academic and vocational training taking place in theUTC building at Lillyhall, Energy Coast Construction Skills Centre at Lakes College and the Energus facility.

To book a place for this event email enquiries@energycoastutc.co.uk.
