UCLan to deliver prestigious nuclear course

THE University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), in conjunction with partners Sellafield Limited and University of New Mexico, will co-deliver and host the prestigious Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) workshop this September at its Westlakes campus in Whitehaven.
Endorsed by the National Skills Academy, Nuclear under its Nuclear Skills Passport programme, the Westlakes campus, the hub of UCLan’s nuclear activity, will accommodate a range of nuclear sector professionals from various organisations across the UK to share knowledge, best practice and experiences.
Established and developed in collaboration with the University of New Mexico and Sellafield Ltd, the programme has been running for 25 years. The week-long programme is the only one of its kind in Europe and brings together expertise and esteemed nuclear criticality safety professionals from all corners of the world, and draws upon extensive UK and US experience in nuclear criticality safety.
Aimed at plant managers and nuclear criticality safety specialists, the course gives a thorough insight into nuclear criticality safety theory and practice but still with a strong operational slant.
