Troops’ treat in store

SHOPPERS at Whitehaven’s Wilkinson store can now do their bit for soldiers serving on foreign fields.

Support Our Soldiers (SOS) has set up a stall in the Lowther Street branch to encourage shoppers to buy goodies in store and donate them straight to the organisation.
SOS sends out boxes every few months to troops in Afghanistan. It welcomes donations of any items that will help give the soldiers a morale boost and a small taste of home, including sweets (but no chocolate), crisps, biscuits, sun cream, toiletries, clothing and magazines.
