HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for St John’s Church in Cleator Moor following a family fun day.
An afternoon of activities took place at the Crossfield Community Centre on Saturday to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the church and to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
There was a variety of stalls and traditional games for the children. The fundraising event raised £771 for the restoration of the church roof.
One of the organisers, Sylvia Messenger, said: “It was an absolutely wonderful day, very busy! Everyone just had a lovely time, the games were excellent and everyone had a good crack. It was a good team effort.”
