Tesco's £20m Whitehaven store 'will go ahead’

TESCO still plans to go ahead with its £20 million Whitehaven superstore – despite rumours that it will be dropped.

Have your say

Tesco's offer to give us a new shop in the town and the loony tunes start running around beating up anyone who supports them!!! What planet are you on? Good on ya Tesco's!! Build us one here in Egremont whilst your at it, preferably on top of the troglodytes!!!

Sorry - will still believe it when I see it - if it happens in my lifetime that is!

If a new supermarket is thought to be needed, why not think of building it near the centre of Egremont.? It might just draw more shoppers and businesses to that beautiful town.

Just to remind the counciller, town economics, employment and infastructure does not just revolve around getting a supermarket,so don't be blowing your trumpet just yet, talk about resting on your lorals.I don't want to be pessimistic but all the failures with the rest of the town shows signs of desperation at whatever the cost in this descision rather than have another failure.

Well if Councillor Phil says it'll happen then my total faith is restored.
I will look forward to shopping there on my way to watch the world cup games in his super stadium!
