Have your say
A suitable lapse of time since I last requested all Copeland councillors, including the 'leader' and 'executive', to publish their qualifications, professional and academic, through the medium of this paper. I make this request again in order that the confidence of the voters of Copeland will be restored. I request this especially of portfolio holders so that the public of Copeland may have first hand knowledge of the suitability of portfolio holders given that to hold a portfolio equates to a rise of 6k+ GBP over and above their existing allowances.
In these days of getting value for money, there is an alternative on offer whereby these extra allowances, x7 plus what the council leader is paid, could be better used by not having an executive and a council leader.
Add to this: do we really need 51 councillors in Copeland? What value is added by having this antiquated number of councillors, bearing in mind they get in excess of 3k GBP per year?
Responsibility and accountability, sadly lacking in CBC, in its present form.
NMP donate 50k GBP to WRLFC.
Follow the thread.
Where does NMP get its money from? Yes, you've got it.
So, the taxpayers are again forking out for WRLFC.
Money spent wisely? Or thrown away, again.
Not many converts generated from this donation, just resentment through money being seen to be wasted.
