Stadium fallout: Whitehaven AFC
Last updated at 11:29, Thursday, 03 May 2012
WAFC is extremely disappointed with the events that forced us into losing the RL World Cup.
The partners were forced into this decision by what we saw as unaffordable and unacceptable demands from the Miners Welfare. The partners tried to resolve the matter of the easement but some of the conditions set by the Miners could not be resolved and in some instances totally unrealistic to a community project. We now need to move on to secure alternative access to ensure we deliver what has been promised.
We would like to thank BEC for its support with this project and are pleased that they share in WAFC’s desire to further develop this area. We are working closely with all the partners and stakeholders to begin work as soon as possible on this community sport development.
