Stadium fallout: Cumbria Tourism
Last updated at 11:29, Thursday, 03 May 2012
WE welcome the news that the Whitehaven stadium is still supported and look forward to it progressing.
The Western Lake District has so many opportunities for the future through the UK’s Adventure Capital programme and the Taste Cumbria Food Festival and this is alongside world-class events like the Whitehaven Festival, Maryport Blues Festival, The Muncaster Festival of Fools, Cockrock and The Black Combe Walking Festival.
Tourism plays a vital part in the development of the visitor economy in the Western Lake District, and the fact that there is a desire to provide first-class facilities is an important part in developing world class event programmes for the future.
We will work with all other bodies to make the stadium dream a reality.
