- Around 22 per cent of the population of Cumbria is under the age of 20.
- In Copeland, 9.1 per cent of 16-24 year olds are currently claiming JSA, which is above both the county and national average.
- Approximately 18 per cent of children in Copeland are living in poverty. This is above the Cumbria average of 15 per cent but below the national average of 21 per cent.
- In Cumbria, 10 per cent of children in Reception and 21 per cent of children in Year 6 are classified as obese.
