Safe working boosts Lillie-Mai's fund

SAFE working habits have resulted in a donation of nearly £1,800 to a little girl who was struck down with meningitis and lost her legs and an arm.
The Sir Robert McAlpine contractors at Sellafield marked 100,000 accident-free hours with a donation of £1,000.
Workers decided that the money should be given to Maryport youngster Lillie-Mai Jackson. The Lillie-Mai Trust was set up to raise funds to buy prosthetic legs for the youngster.
Richard Parker, project manager, said he was particularly impressed at the charity the workers had chosen and also by their subsequent generosity.
Workforce representative, Neil Sharpe, said the workers had decided that, on top of the £1,000, they would also like to contribute further.
Collections were held and they raised a further £765.
