Royal street party
Last updated at 11:35, Thursday, 07 June 2012
A STREET party fit for royalty was held at Lowca School. The afternoon of food, dressing up and reminiscing was organised for pupils, parents, staff and nearby residents.
Louise Mills, school administrator, said: “It was absolutely lovely. The kids were a vision of red, white and blue.
“We had a memory board which had photos of the Silver Jubilee in 1977 and the Coronation. Some of the people spotted pictures of themselves from 1977, which was lovely.
“We are very lucky to have the support from the community. We regularly have community lunches. We had 120 people including staff and children – it was a great turnout,” she added.
