Road set to become one-way

A SECTION of road in Moresby Parks is set to become one-way to improve safety in the village.
Following concerns over motorists speeding and poor visibility at the site, it has been proposed that a short section of Solway Road will become one-way. A consultation will now be launched to gauge the public’s reaction.
The move comes less than a year after an improvement scheme was carried out in the same location, in which a footpath was installed over the bridge to and from Moresby Parks, a route that is used by Moresby School pupils.
However, Karl Melville (Cumbria County Council’s traffic engineer), Cam Ross (county councillor) and borough councillors have acted after concerns persisted at the site. Moresby Parish Council has also long campaigned for the improvements.
